Responsibilities
Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures
Required Experience
A minimum of 90 days (or a period of time as determined by the custodian supervisor) as an LPISD Substitute custodian preferred or Experience in a custodial work environment preferred
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Twenty-inch (20”) rotos, automatic floor machines, carpet extractors, commercial vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, 24-and32- ounce wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment and tools, products and supplies.
Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching
Lifting: Heavy lifting required up to forty-five (45) pounds unassisted frequently
Environment: Work is both outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders required; may work alone
Mental Demands: Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions
Other Information
The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.
