Position: Head Tennis Coach/Teacher

 

This posting is for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

Provide students with appropriate instruction and coach students to develop skills and the ability to excel in the assigned sport. Guide and support students to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Contribute to the overall education program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics, so that they are successfully competitive. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. 

 

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in teaching area assigned
• Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment

Experience:

• Successful tennis coaching experience required

Special Knowledge and Skills:

• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
• Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills 

Salary:                                 

• $61,000 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience. Based on 2024-2025 Compensation Plan, pending Board approval.
• $7,000 Head Tennis Coach Stipend
• Sports stipend(s) based on sport assignments and the LPISD Compensation Plan
• $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
• Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda 

Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
