Position: Lead Security Officer

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

 

Lead security and safety services for the school campuses and provide oversight for the safety and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors. Provide for the safety of all students, faculty, and staff and the security of all high school campus property and equipment. Providing training, support, oversight and guidance to the campus security assistants. Assist the district and campus administration in the development and implementation of procedures that will ensure the protection of all campus, student and staff property. This position does not have law enforcement authority.

Tools/Equipment Used: District vehicle (if assigned), two-way radio, standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Motion: Strenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of a mouse, moderate driving possible

 

Lifting and Movement: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force as frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work extremely physically demanding work and also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: climbing, crawling, running, scaling, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, stooping, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Tasks may also involve standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time.

 

Environment: Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; frequent districtwide travel. May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions; work outdoors in varying climate conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, fog, sleet.

 

Other: Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions; ability to control sudden aggressive or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.

Other Information: The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

Midpoint:    $28.62  / $50,371
