Position: Spanish Teacher
Location: La Porte High School
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
- Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
- According to the LPISD Board adopted District of Innovation (DOI) plan, candidates who are native Spanish speakers with qualified experience could be eligible to teach a course through a local teaching certification. Applicants must meet all District hiring criteria and demonstrate fluent and proficient bi-literacy skills, to include listening, speaking, reading and writing of the Spanish language.
Responsibilities:
- Specific knowledge of subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
Salary:
- $60,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
