Position: Plumber

 

Job Qualifications:

  • GED/High School diploma (preferred)
  • Valid Texas Drivers License; must be insurable by district's insurance carrier
  • Apprentice Plumber's License (preferred)

 

Job Description:

 

Assist in the design, planning, construction installation of all phases of district-wide potable water, sanitary water, gas and storm drainage systems. Assist in assuring district compliance with all regulatory agency requirements involving plumbing activities.

  

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the repair or replacement of lavatories, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains, and cafeteria plumbing fixtures. 
  • Assist in the maintainence and repair of storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer and potable water systems.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of gas systems.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of pipe systems located above, under and on the ground; in, on and between walls, floor and ceilings.
  • Assist with new installation of plumbing fixtures, potable water air and gas and back flow prevention systems.
  • Assist in testing and inspection of piping systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized work environment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the general maintenance supervisor.

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing plumber (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to operate all types of plumbing equipment; ability to transform plans into a complete product; ability to read and comprehend design drawings.

The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $145/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

 

Pay Grade: Manual Trades Pay Grade 6, 250 Days
