La Porte Independent School District Welcomes Parent Volunteers

In accordance with the Texas Education Code, Section 22.083, La Porte ISD may obtain criminal history record information on an individual who has indicated, in writing, an intention to serve as a volunteer. Completion of the online volunteer application at www.lpisd.org will serve as written intent to serve as a volunteer at a designated La Porte ISD campus and a release to conduct a criminal background information check. Criminal information obtained is confidential and used only for the purpose of ensuring student safety.

The health and safety of our students and staff are top priorities in La Porte ISD. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public access to schools is significantly restricted. At this time, approved visits to campuses will be limited to only those individuals conducting necessary, approved school business. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

If a visitor is approved to conduct necessary approved school business, the visit will be scheduled by the appropriate district/campus administrator. The visitor must pass the COVID-19 daily screener, which is located on the LPISD website. All visitors must adhere to campus protocols. Approval of this application will be communicated to the applicant by phone or email.

Steps to becoming a La Porte ISD Parent Volunteer:

Step 1: Complete the "Volunteer" on-line application and identify the campus/campuses on which you plan to volunteer.

Step 2: Once your online volunteer application has been approved, your name will appear on the campus list you have designated. If necessary you may contact the campus secretary to confirm your volunteer status.

            Please note that Volunteer applications expire annually on July 30th,

                               so you must re-apply every school year!
