Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
- Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
- Knowledge of overall operation of Theater Arts program
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Theater Arts preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Provide high school students with an opportunity to participate in Theater Arts curriculum and activities
- Plan and administer Theater Arts activities in accordance with campus and district expectations
- Collaborate with theater department and other fine arts departments to perform annual musical
- Plan and prepare to provide students the opportunity to achieve district, region, state, and national recognition

The District contributes $370/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $145/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
Assignment 10 Duty Months
Salary:
- $57,200 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience (based on the 2019-2020 Compensation Plan)
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
- Stipends will be offered for applicable fine arts assignments as designated in the LPISD Compensation Plan
Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months
