Position: 

Senior Army Instructor (SAI) - JROTC Instructor

Provide leadership, direction, and daily supervision of La Porte High School JROTC program. Plan appropriate learning activities and experiences consistent with the JROTC curriculum and designed to fulfill JROTC students' potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Present JROTC subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), board policies, administrative regulations, and Department Army guidelines. 

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (Ranking Officer only)
• Valid Texas teaching certificate or permit with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
• U.S. Army Cadet Command certification

Special Knowledge/Skills and Required Experience: 

• Knowledge of JROTC Curriculum
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Appropriate active duty military experience

The District contributes $370/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $145/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
