Position: Clerk, School Counselor

Note: Grant funded position. After the 2020-2021 school year, this position is subject to available funding.

The assignment may be split between two campuses.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Proficient office skills, computer and general office equipment use
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of spreadsheets to manage data
  • Knowledge of school district organization and operations preferred
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess demonstrated record keeping skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of clerical experience preferred 

Job Description:

Facilitate the efficient operation of campus counselor’s office and provide clerical services to the counselor. Keep accurate records and reports as directed by the counselor or administrative team. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district personnel, outside agencies and the general public.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage the routine work activities of the campus counselor’s office
  • Provide general clerical support to the counselor
  • Assist in compiling information for preparing various reports as assigned by the counselor or campus administrators
  • Receive incoming calls and take reliable messages
  • Maintain files and documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of information and student records 
  • Input student data and provide reports as requested 
  • Assist in the compilation, input and verification of campus Counselor PEIMS data
  • Promote positive school and community relations
  • Keep informed of and comply with all state and district policies and regulations concerning job functions
  • Exhibit a positive attitude by acting as a role model for district employees, students and the community that supports the mission of the district and/or campus goals
  • Demonstrate cooperation by working effectively with others including supervisors, peers, teachers, parents and students 
  • Exhibit reliability by completing work as assigned and meeting project time lines
  • Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to job assignment
  • Maintain proper safety and security precautions to prevent unnecessary or unreasonable risk of injury to self or others
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The district contributes $370/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $145/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

 

 

Pay Grade: PG 3, 187 days    

 

Salary:

Minimum: $12.99 hourly/$19,433 annually 

Midpoint:  $15.65 hourly/$23,412 annually

Maximum:$18.31 hourly/$27,392 annually
