Position: 2020-2021 Head Boys Basketball Coach/Teacher
Provide students with appropriate instruction and coach students to develop skills and the ability to excel in the assigned sport. Guide and support students to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Contribute to the overall education program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics, so that they are successfully competitive. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Credentials:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in teaching area assigned
- Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
Experience:
- Successful basketball coaching experience required
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
- Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Salary:
- $56,200 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Sports stipend(s) based on sport assignments and the LPISD Compensation Plan
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
The District contributes $370/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $145/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months
