Position: High School French Teacher
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
- Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
- According to the LPISD Board adopted District of Innovation (DOI) plan, candidates who are native French speakers with qualified experience could be eligible to teach a course through a local teaching certification. Applicants must meet all District hiring criteria and demonstrate fluent and proficient bi-literacy skills, to include listening, speaking, reading and writing of the French language.

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
Salary:
- $60,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking
- Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
- Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress
