Occupational Therapist (anticipated)

Primary Purpose

 

Evaluate and treat students with fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, sensory motor or self-help skill delays using therapeutic intervention and/or consultation to reduce and/or eliminate problems and impairments that interfere with the student’s ability to derive full benefits from their educational program.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas License as an Occupational Therapist from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
  • One year of Occupational Therapist experience, pediatric preferred

Other Information

 

The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.

 

Pay Grade

 

Professional PG 3, 11 Duty Months   

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

  • Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stoopping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Motion: Frequent walking 
  • Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
  • Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
  • Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress
