Position: Strength & Conditioning Coach Intern

Temporary position for summer camp- 2023             

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Currently majoring or plan to major in Kinesiology/Health and Human Performance at an accredited university
• CPR / AED / First Aid preferred
• Knowledge of or desire to learn and teach strength and conditioning, coaching techniques and procedures
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Job Description:

• Observe and shadow coaches’ responsibilities and coaching techniques
• Participate in Summer strength and conditioning training sessions
• Assist coaches in maintaining and cleaning all strength and conditioning facilities in the district, including but not limited to repairing or replacing equipment as needed
• Setting up and taking down of all speed, agility, and quickness workouts that are scheduled on a daily basis, including the return of all equipment to its proper storage location 
• Assist coaches in maintaining a current inventory of all speed and strength training equipment within the district
• Adhere to La Porte ISD Athletics dress code and behavior requirements
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the campus Principal, Director of Athletics, and Strength and Conditioning coaches
