Position: Junior High School Principal
Campus: La Porte Junior High
2023-2024 School Year
Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage overall campus operations. Responsible for leadership of the campus instructional program, ensuring high standards of instruction and student achievement, compliance with district policies, application of instructional programs, providing a safe learning environment and effective operation of all campus activities.
Serve as instructional leader, communicator of high expectations to students, staff and parents for student achievement, positive student behavior and collegial school climate.
Job Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas principal certification
- AEL or ILD/ILT certification, or willing to obtain
- Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser or willing to obtain
Experience:
- Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Assistant Principal experience required
- Principal experience preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough understanding of school operations
- Thorough knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, and public relations skills
Salary:
Minimum: $ 96,691 Midpoint: $116,493 Maximum: $136,295
Pay Grade: Administrative Pay Grade 4, 12-Duty Months

La Porte ISD contributes $400/monthly to employee only health insurance, which is $175/monthly greater than the state-required minimum contribution of $225/monthly.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals
